Nonresidential and Multifamily Construction Spending Slump in March

Spending on most categories of nonresidential and multifamily construction declined from February to March as contractors struggled to find enough workers and get timely deliveries of materials, according to an analysis the Associated General Contractors of America released regarding federal spending data. Association leaders urged Washington officials to end tariffs on construction materials and widen the opportunities for gaining the skills for rewarding careers in construction. First Multifamily Modular Construction Project Delivered in Washington, D.C. Petworth Area

The Modular Mobilization Coalition recently delivered the first multifamily modular construction project in the Petworth area of Washington, D.C. The Petworth Modo project consists of 44 modular units that will be stacked into a five-story building containing 16 apartments. The building is anticipated to be move-in ready by the end of 2020. The modular project is expected to be completed in 10 months, compared to a 12-16-month timeline using traditional site-built construction methods. Work Begins on New Atlanta Multifamily Tower AMLI Oak Valley

ATLANTA, Ga. – JE Dunn Construction has begun work on AMLI Oak Valley, a multifamily community featuring a 24-story tower and a five-story mid-rise, which together will deliver 391 luxury apartments to Atlanta, Georgia’s Buckhead neighborhood. The AMLI Oak Valley project also includes a 255,000-square-foot, precast parking deck with 665 spaces.
