Construction Salaries Continue to Rise

Skilled craft professionals continue to earn high wages, according to NCCER’s 2022 Construction Craft Salary Survey. More than 135 commercial, industrial and residential construction companies across the U.S., representing over 337,000 employees, participated in the survey. The individual craft areas reported provide average annual salaries, not including overtime, per diem, bonuses or other incentives. Of the 41 construction positions surveyed, average annual salaries ranged from $49,920 to $98,965. Project supervisors and project managers topped the list, earning over $90,200 and $98,900, respectively. Developing Workforce through Mortenson’s 1st Apprenticeship Program

Mortenson Phoenix has completed the company’s first ever NCCER Apprenticeship Class, focused on developing its carpenter workforce in the Phoenix, Arizona metro area. This marks the culmination of two years of research, analysis, approvals, planning and ultimately execution, held in its Phoenix Equipment Facility. Training Grant Awarded to Erection & Welding Contractors

The Steel Erectors Association of America has awarded Erection & Welding Contractors, Berlin, Connecticut, with the 2021 SEAA Craft Training Grant. The grant is for member companies who are newly implementing SEAA/NCCER Ironworker Training and Assessment programs. It covers initial setup, training for administrators, instructors and coordinators, as well as custom training materials for Ironworker Levels 1-3 or similar curriculum. NCCER Announces 2021 Board of Trustees

NCCER elected Stephen Toups, president of Turner Industries in Baton Rouge, Louisiana as its 2021 board of trustees’ chairman and the first to serve a two-year term. Toups will succeed Michael Bennett, vice president of The Cianbro Companies in Pittsfield, Maine, who remains a member of the executive committee and is the co-chair of the newly founded Past Chairman’s Council.
