Dodge Construction Network: Construction Starts Grew 16% in June

Total construction starts were up 16% in June to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $1.33 trillion, according to Dodge Construction Network. Nonresidential building starts improved by 39%, residential starts fell 1%, and nonbuilding starts grew 2% over the month. On a year-to-date basis through June, total construction starts were up 1% from last year. Total Construction Starts Increase in December

Total construction starts jumped 27% in December to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $1.185 trillion, according to Dodge Construction Network. During the month, nonresidential building starts increased 51%, nonbuilding starts increased 30% and residential starts rose less than 1%.
