Skanska has signed a contract with the city of Fort Lauderdale for the Las Olas Boulevard improvements project in Florida. The contract is worth $49 million. The contract consists of the construction of an approximately 258,000-square-foot, 670-space parking facility, an amenity deck, a beachfront park with green spaces, architectural shade canopy, interactive water feature and streetscape improvements to the entire beach corridor. Clark Completes ‘LAX Terminal Shuffle’ Milestone
Clark, in a joint venture with McCarthy Building Companies, Inc., has completed a monumental task on the Delta Enabling project. The Clark/McCarthy team performed the orchestrated relocation of more than 30 airlines and tenants to terminals throughout Los Angeles International Airport. The “LAX Terminal Shuffle,” as it was coined by local media, migrated Delta Air Lines’ operations from Terminals 5 and 6 to Terminals 2 and 3. The relocation is part of a long-term plan to connect Terminals 2 and 3 with the Tom Bradley International Terminal, which will increase Delta’s flight capacity and international operations at LAX. Taunton State Hospital Project Receives Preservation Award
BOSTON, Mass. – The Taunton State Hospital WRAP (Women’s Recovery from Addictions Program) project has been awarded the Preservation Massachusetts 2017 Paul and Niki Tsongas Award. The project was recognized in the category: Best Use – Community and Social Services. The Tsongas Award recognized the renovation, which includes 17,050 square feet of the historic Taunton State Hospital’s Chambers Building, a secure facility that houses women who are recovering from addiction and substance abuse. Skanska Signs Contract for $35M for Ongoing New York City Project
Skanska has booked an additional order for its existing contract with The Durst Organization to renovate 1155 Avenue of the Americas, a high-rise building located in Midtown Manhattan in New York City. Skanska is providing infrastructure upgrades and core finishes to 30 floors in preparation for new tenants. Updates to the building include new floor air-handling units, cooling towers, emergency generator, emergency power riser, core restrooms, perimeter insulation, fire protection sprinklers and a new building management system. The incremental addition includes interior cell phone antenna and IT systems, as well as roofing.
