SEAA Confirms 48th Convention and Trade Show Dates
The Steel Erectors Association of America’s 48th Convention and Trade Show, previously scheduled for April 2021, will take place Oct. 12-14 in Orlando, Florida. The trade show provides erectors and fabricators a chance to see the latest products, services and innovations they need for a safer, more productive work site. To accommodate social distancing and small group engagement, attendees will be split into two groups. Half will visit indoor booths, while half will visit outdoor booths. Groups will rotate at the mid-point in the schedule, and the live demonstrations will be staggered between two time slots. Erectors Showcase Ingenuity, Planning + Quality Workmanship on 6 Award-Winning Steel Construction Projects
Six steel erection companies have been named as recipients in the annual Project of the Year awards by the Steel Erectors Association of America. Winners Announced for Steel Erectors Association of America Annual Competition
An independent panel of judges on behalf of the Steel Erectors Association of America selected three steel construction projects for the association’s annual Projects of the Year. Teams from Gardner-Watson Decking (Class I for erection contracts up to $500,000), Buckner Companies (Class III above $1 million to $2.5 million) and J.P. Cullen & Sons (Class IV over $2.5 million) were honored at SEAA’s 2018 Annual Convention, held in April. Note: No awards were granted in the Class II category ($500,000 to $1 million) for 2017. Steel Erector, Design Organizations Collaborate to Improve Steel Erector Certification Requirements
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Steel Erectors Association of America and the American Institute of Steel Construction have worked together to draft a reciprocal indemnity agreement and revise the additional insured language as part of AISC’s Certified Steel Erector program requirements. The reciprocal indemnity and revised additional insured language is mutually beneficial to both AISC and steel erectors participating in the Certified Steel Erector program. “Before, the indemnification clause only protected AISC; now it goes both ways, with each party indemnifying each other,” explained Mark Trimble, AISC’s vice president of certification.
