PORR Wins S16 Expressway Infrastructure Project in Poland
PORR S.A. and the Polish General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways signed a contract for Design-Build project for the S16 expressway Olsztyn-Ełk, in the section from Borki Wielkie to Mrągowo. The 13-kilometer-long expressway section will be built within a three-year period along with the construction of the Mrągowo ring road. The contract is worth around EUR 115m. The contract covers the design and construction of a dual-carriageway express road running from Borki Wielkie to Mrągowo with two lanes in each direction, paved over with asphalt, as well as Mrągowo’s ring road. Bechtel, Enka Partner to Build ‘5G Motorway’ in Serbia
A joint venture between Bechtel and Enka has won a contract tendered by the government of Serbia for a 112-kilometer motorway. The dual carriageway will link the central Serbian towns of Pojate and Preljina, and will connect to the north-south motorway running between Hungary and North Macedonia. It will also link with trans-European corridors X and XI, which connect Austria with Greece and Italy with Romania. Hill International Awarded Contract to Deliver New Mumbai Transit Link in India
Hill International has received a contract from the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority to provide the general consultancy services for the $2.26-billion Mumbai Metro Line 4 as part of a consortium consisting of DB Engineering & Consulting GMBH as the lead partner and Louis Berger Consulting Pvt. Ltd. as another partner. The project consists of a 32.3-kilometer elevated corridor and includes 32 stations along the Wadala-Ghatkopar-Mulund-Thane-Kasarvadavali corridor. Hill is serving in a consortium whose general services will comprise design review, project management and construction supervision. The project is expected to reduce current travel times by 50-75 percent, according to officials.
Hyperloop Transportation Technologies Begins Work on World’s 1st Full-Scale Passenger, Freight System
Hyperloop Transportation Technologies has received the first set of tubes designed to move both people and freight to their research and development center in Toulouse, France. With an interior diameter of 4 meters, the system is optimized both for passenger capsules and shipping containers. The first phase includes a closed 320-meter system that will be operational this year.
