The Texas Department of Transportation State Highway 31 (SH-31) bypass project, located 30 miles east of Waco, Texas, has been completed. Sundt Construction, Inc. served as general contractor. “With record rainfall and a remote site, our project team displayed tremendous grit to complete this project on schedule,” said Joe Dooley, vice president and Texas regional director for the Transportation Group. “The bypass allows traffic an alternate route to bypass downtown, providing relief for its residents and convenience for those passing by.” The $63.9-million project improved nearly 10 miles of SH-31. Reconstruction Begins on Seeling Channel in Downtown San Antonio
Reconstruction recently began on the Seeling Channel near St. Cloud Road in downtown, San Antonio, Texas. The project is an effort to reduce the floodplain near a residential area. Sundt Construction, Inc. is serving as general contractor. The $14.8-million project will include the reconstruction of a drainage channel to address the floodplain concerns. The team will also demolish and rebuild the St. Cloud bridge over the channel and install water, sewer and gas utilities. The Quebec Ministry of Transportation has selected consortium Renouveau La Fontaine, comprising VINCI subsidiaries – Eurovia, consortium leader and Dodin Campenon Bernard – and Canadian company Pomerleau, to rehabilitate Louis Hippolyte Lafontaine Tunnel and its access roads. The tunnel was opened in 1967 and is the longest underwater structure in Canada, covering a distance of 1.5 kilometers beneath the Saint Lawrence River. It is a strategic transport corridor for the Montreal urban area, linking the eastern part of the Island of Montreal to the city of Longueuil.
