AECOM will provide its large capital project program management services to EGGL as it seeks to advance development of its $1.85-billion, 250-acre Nickelodeon-themed project, a central feature for the 750-acre, Foshan Cultural and Ecological Coastal Park, a master-planned environment encompassing cultural, tourism, sports and science and technology components. Viacom broke ground earlier this year with an anticipated opening between 2020 and 2021.
The project is located in Foshan, a southern China city of more than 7 million people, part of the affluent, greater Pearl River Delta mega metropolitan region. Including the large cities of Shenzhen and Guangzhou, more than 22 million people live in the Pearl River Delta, which is also adjacent to the Hong Kong and Macau Special Administrative Regions.
“This is the first, large-scale agreement for AECOM to deliver its proprietary lifecycle of integrated program management services for a consequential theme park project in Asia and is a breakthrough moment for our program management consultancy business in the People’s Republic of China,” said Chris Yoshii, vice president, Asia Pacific, AECOM.
