Gammon Awarded Data Center Project in Singapore

Gammon Pte. Limited, a subsidiary of Gammon Construction Limited, has been awarded a data center project in Singapore for Global Switch, an owner, operator and developer of large-scale, carrier and cloud neutral, multi-tenanted data centers across Europe and Asia-Pacific.

Located in the Woodlands area of Singapore, the data center will comprise a six-story precast structure containing 10 data suites and infrastructure. It will be built to achieve LEED Gold and Green Mark Platinum standards utilizing Building Information Modeling through design development, construction, operation and maintenance. The data center is due to launch later this year.

Global Switch’s Singapore Woodlands data center is the first project in the island state to adopt prefabricated mechanical and electrical and plumbing modular techniques on a large scale. Gammon is assembling over 60 percent of the MEP works offsite and also over 70 percent of the structure was precast offsite. This method of manufacturing elements offsite has multiple benefits including increased productivity, safety and quality.
