The Department of Veterans Affairs and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Louisville District, selected Turner Construction Company and Walsh Construction to build an $840-million, full-service medical center to serve military veterans in Louisville, Kentucky.
In addition to the construction of the new 104-bed, 910,115-square-foot medical center, the project includes parking structures, central utility plant, roadways, sidewalks and other site improvements. Small, local and veteran-owned groups will be involved in the construction of the facility.
The facility will integrate modern patient-centered care concepts to veterans. To address the needs of women veterans, the facility will include a Women’s Health Clinic with four Patient Aligned Care Teams.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is assisting the VA with design, planning and construction. A groundbreaking for the facility will be held fall of 2021 and is scheduled to be complete in 2025.
