HOCHTIEF has been awarded the contract to build a new central location for the NRW University of Applied Sciences for Police and Public Administration in Herne, Germany for the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. HOCHTIEF will rent the university campus to HSPV and deliver operational services for an initial 20 years after completion, which is scheduled for winter semester 2027. Planning and construction will be performed by the Building NRW branch of HOCHTIEF Infrastructure.

The university campus includes construction of lecture halls, the administration building, refectory, library, multi-purpose rooms and 1,200 parking spaces. On an area of around 32,000 square meters, the facilities will cater to over 5,000 students.

The new university campus consists of three buildings, all of which are accessible via a shared square that forms the center of the campus and is meant to contribute to a culture of togetherness. The project team also includes the architectural office of Auer Weber, in cooperation with Rainer Schmidt Landschaftsarchitekten + Stadtplaner.
