The façade installation of Studio A, Skanska’s newest development in Warsaw, Poland has been completed. The second phase of this modern office complex is scheduled to be delivered in December.
Located near Rondo ONZ, Skanska’s office complex comprises two buildings: Studio B, which was completed in 2023 at 9 Łucka Street and Studio A, under construction at 28 Prosta Street. The architectural design was developed by Arrow Architects in collaboration with Grupa 5 Architekci.
Construction of the second phase began in November 2023 and is progressing according to schedule, with Studio A expected to be operational by December. The installation of the façade marks a significant milestone in the development of this over 100-meter-tall office tower, offering 26,600 square meters of space. At this stage, distinctive steel X-shaped elements have also been mounted on the lower levels of the building, adding a modern, industrial character that complements the surrounding urban aesthetic.
Each component of the 12,000-square-meter façade was manufactured in Poland by Defor. The production process utilized innovative technologies and multi-stage quality control, ensuring the highest precision. The façade meets stringent standards for thermal and acoustic insulation, and offers high airtightness and resistance to weather conditions. Its segmented design enhances compatibility with the building’s reinforced concrete structure, minimizing the risk of stress and damage, and contributing to the durability and reliability of the entire façade system.
Prefabrication of the façade in a controlled factory environment significantly reduced the need for storage and assembly space on the construction site. Various solutions have been implemented to minimize the environmental impact of the complex, including the use of low-carbon concrete for the foundation slab. In addition, the surroundings of the development will feature small architectural elements and year-round greenery, harmoniously blending with both modern and classical architectural styles of the neighboring buildings.
