Tom Porter has joined Stevens Construction as superintendent. Bringing 32 years of experience, Porter has completed more than $350 million in healthcare and commercial construction. He is highly skilled in complex, healthcare projects situated in occupied facilities, fully understanding infection control and project containment protocols. As superintendent, Porter oversees all subcontractors on Stevens Construction’s healthcare projects, ensuring subcontractors achieve schedule and quality goals, while maintaining a safe jobsite. Porter has received his Construction Quality Management for Contractors, OSHA 30-hour, first aid and CPR certifications.

AGC Launches New Initiative to Address Climate Change, Pushes for Construction of Less Carbon-Intensive Projects

Construction officials outlined a series of steps public officials and the construction industry should take to address the impacts of the built environment on climate change. Empire State Development, a Lendlease/Turner joint venture with tvsdesign, provided Design-Build services for the expansion of the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. The $1.5-billion project will generate millions of dollars in new economic activity for New York City, while serving as a model of environmental efficiency and sustainability.
