Twenty-six teams of undergraduate students from colleges and universities nationwide put their construction project leadership skills to the test during Associated Builders and Contractors’ annual Construction Management Competition, held virtually for the first time this month. Construction has recently started on a six-story boutique hotel located on the Nebraska Innovation Campus, an expansive research community designed to facilitate novel partnerships between the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and private-sector businesses in Lincoln, Nebraska. Abandoned High-Rise Transformed into Luxury Apartments
Construction is complete on 1100 Apex, an adaptive reuse, mixed-use apartment residence in downtown Clearwater, Florida. Positioned on a 2.1-acre site, the development was originally constructed as an office building in 1972. After several failed redevelopment attempts in the early 2000s, the structure was abandoned in 2009, after which it fell into disarray.
