New Bridge Opens Across UK’s Biggest Road Project

The A14 Integrated Delivery Team, comprised of Balfour Beatty, Skanska and Costain, has completed the second of 34 bridges and main structures on the UK’s biggest road project. The newly opened bridge forms part of Highways England’s £1.5 billion major improvement scheme on the A14. The project will see the upgrade of a 21-mile stretch of the A14 between Cambridge and Huntingdon from two to three lanes in each direction including a brand new 17-mile bypass south of Huntingdon. Gammon Construction Wins Contract for Lyric Theatre in West Kowloon Cultural District

Gammon Construction Limited has been awarded a HK$1.5 billion contract by the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority in Hong Kong to deliver the extended basement and public infrastructure works for the L1 Contract for Lyric Theatre Complex and Extended Basement at WKCD. The project involves excavation and lateral support followed by construction of a two-level reinforced concrete structure, as well as public infrastructure works including drainage, a traffic lay-by and associated temporary works.
