KBR’s “Camo to KBR: Veterans Recruitment and Training Program” has received a Workforce Development Award from the Construction Users Roundtable. Construction Employers Add 36K Jobs in January, Hourly Earnings Rise

Construction employment increased by 36,000 jobs in January to the highest level since August 2008, according to an analysis of new government data by the Associated General Contractors of America. NCCER Elects 2018 Board President

NCCER elected C. Rockwell Turner, president of LPR Construction in Loveland, Colorado, as its 2018 board of trustees’ chairman. Turner will succeed Chip Reid, CEO of Current Builders in Pompano Beach, Florida, who remains a member of the executive committee. Andy Dupuy, president and CEO of Brown & Root, will serve as the 2018 vice chairman. Skanska Awarded Contract to Develop Virginia Tech Biomedical Research Addition

Skanska USA has been awarded a $68-million contract to complete the Virginia Tech Carilion Biomedical Research Addition, a 140,000-square-foot building on the Virginia Tech Carilion Health Sciences and Technology Campus in Roanoke, Virginia. This project, while contracted with Carilion Clinic, is a collaboration between Carilion Clinic and Virginia Tech. AECOM is the architect. The project is expected to be completed in February 2020.
