PCL Construction Awarded Contract for Calgary Cancer Centre

CALGARY, Alberta – PCL Construction Management Inc. has been awarded the $1.1-billion Design-Build contract for the new Calgary Cancer Centre project, as part of the government’s $1.4 billion overall project budget. The Calgary Cancer Centre is PCL’s largest Design-Build lump sum project to date. The new facility will measure over 2 million square feet, including a 1,650-stall underground parking garage and a 984- linear-foot elevated walkway that connects with existing facilities. The University of California, Irvine awarded the second phase of its campus undergraduate student housing program to the Design-Build team of Hensel Phelps and Mithun in early April. The 215,000-square-foot UCI Middle Earth Expansion project consists of two phases: 1) a new student housing building on the site of two buildings to be demolished (Brandywine Commons and Brandywine Student Center) and 2) the renovation of Pippin Commons.
