Contractors, Engineers Travel to Bolivia to Build Suspension Footbridge
CHALLOMA CHICO, Bolivia – An established partnership between Walsh Construction, Bridges to Prosperity and International Bridge Technologies resulted in the construction of a new 160-foot suspended footbridge for a remote village in Bolivia. Challoma Chico, located in the country’s La Paz region, is a mountainous community home to approximately 450 residents that was becoming separated from essential goods and services by the Rio Yaco River. Eight Walsh volunteers, from engineers to superintendents to surveyors, were part of a project team that traveled to the site and built the suspension bridge in less than two weeks. WASHINGTON, D.C. – Associated Builders and Contractors recognized the winners of the 30th annual National Craft Championships during its Careers in Construction awards ceremony on March 3 at the conclusion of ABC’s Workforce Week ’17. MYCON General Contractors to Build Woodcreek Church Addition
MCKINNEY, Texas – MYCON General Contractors has been awarded the preconstruction and general contracting services to build a new $6.3-million educational addition for Woodcreek Church in Richardson, Texas. Located on the church’s 27.1-acre property at 3400 E. Renner Road just east of Highway 190, the 28,654-square-foot expansion will be on the south side of the existing facility.
