Asta Powerproject Packs Sophisticated Features into Latest Release

Elecosoft recently launched version 14 of its Asta Powerproject construction project software in the U.S. The upgrade includes a host of new and enhanced features, including prior add-on modules that are now included in the standard versions of Asta Powerproject. The Earned Value Analysis reporter in this new version is a powerful analytical tool that gives an overall view of the project progress vs. planned, as well as other advancements. Other features include a network viewer, user interface upgrades, advanced tools, easy sharing and flexible export tools.

Construction Material Prices Rise Again

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Construction input prices expanded by 0.7 percent in May and have now expanded for three consecutive months according to an analysis of the Bureau of Labor Statistics Producer Price Index released by Associated Builders and Contractors. The rise follows eight consecutive months during which construction input prices fell; prices remain 3.4 percent below their year-ago level. Nonresidential construction input prices expanded by 0.9 percent in May, but are still 3.5 percent below their year-ago level. Women and Children’s Shelter is Now Complete

FORT WORTH, Texas – Linbeck Group recently completed the $8.4-million Presbyterian Night Shelter’s Morris Foundation Women & Children’s Center in Fort Worth, Texas. Construction on the project began April 1, 2015 and was completed on schedule and on budget using, among other technological tools and processes, BIM 360 Field. “This is more than just another construction project for our Fort Worth team. Hill International Wins Three Regional CMAA Project Achievement Awards

PHILADELPHIA, Pa., and NEW YORK, N.Y. – Hill International has been recognized with three regional Project Achievement Awards from the Construction Management Association of America. Hill was recognized by CMAA’s Mid-Atlantic Chapter for its management of its own global corporate headquarters project in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, which won in the category of “Best Private Sector Project Under $20 Million.” The chapter also recognized Hill as project manager, along with Heery International as construction manager, for management of Pennsylvania State University’s Consortium for Building Energy Innovation project in Philadelphia, which won in the category of “Best Higher Education Project Over $20 Million.” […]

Lendlease Opens El Camino College’s New Playing Field

TORRANCE, Calif. – Lendlease received temporary certificate of occupancy of the new Kinesiology and Fitness Complex at El Camino College, Torrance, California, just in time for the 2016 Commencement Ceremony. Lendlease managed the construction of the new Kinesiology and Fitness Complex which included the replacement of the deteriorating Murdock Stadium, originally built in 1949. This project included the construction of a modern stadium to support the college’s outstanding athletic programs and kinesiology classes.
