Russo is a 40-year construction industry veteran and has served as KBE’s director of preconstruction since 2002. Russo was chosen based on criteria set by the college’s Industrial Advisory Board. Avison Young provided early development services for Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates, a two-story, 50,000-square-feet medical office building, located in Concord, Massachusetts. These services included developing budgets and schedules, coordinating and monitoring all consultant activities during the design phase and managing the permitting and approvals process. The firm also acted as owner’s representation to Normandy Real Estate Partners during pre-construction and construction phases of this project. DES PLAINES, Ill. — The American Society of Safety Engineers released the second edition of its “Construction Safety Management and Engineering” book with updated standards and technical issues in construction. The revised edition includes construction standards adopted over the last 10 years, as well as chapters devoted to fall protection, steel erection, scaffolding safety, electrical safety and excavation. Lend Lease served as the construction manager for the National September 11 Memorial & Museum. Gustavus Adolphus's Beck Academic Hall Earns LEED Platinum
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — Beck Academic Hall at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota, has earned LEED Platinum certification. The three-story, 125,000-square-foot academic building was constructed in 2010 by Kraus-Anderson Construction Company. The building exceeds State of Minnesota Sustainable Building 2030 targets, and is modeled to save 44 percent more energy and 30 percent more water than typical code requires.
