Crane Industry Services Offers Construction Career Path for Military Veterans

Crane Industry Services, LLC is working with staffing company AEG to help returning members of the military become job-ready in the construction trades as they transition back into the civilian workforce. The Department of Defense program is called SkillBridge. AEG pairs the individuals to partnering employers, while CIS evaluates their military credentials and trains them for a construction career. Industry Experts Release Recommended Guidance on Design Assist vs. Delegated Design

Over the past few years, the American Institute of Architects and the American Institute of Steel Construction have worked together to study design collaboration techniques commonly used in the construction industry. American Society of Concrete Contractors to Hold Virtual Annual Conference

The American Society of Concrete Contractors will be replacing its 2020 Annual Conference with a virtual conference the same week, Sept. 21-25. International Code Council, SEAOC Release New Seismic Design Manuals

The International Code Council and the Structural Engineers Association of California have partnered to release a joint publication of the 2018 IBC SEAOC Structural/Seismic Design Manuals. The updated series provides a guided approach to applying the structural provisions of the 2018 International Building Code and referenced standards. This updated, four-volume series includes: Volume 1: Code Application Examples – Volume 1 contains code application examples based on the IBC and ASCE 7-16, including determination of seismic irregularities, combinations of structural systems, determination of drift, support of discontinuous systems and analysis of seismic forces applied to equipment, nonstructural elements and nonbuilding structures.
