Orange Technical College Completes Comprehensive Renovation

In collaboration with Orange Technical College and architectural firm Harvard Jolly, Gilbane Building Company celebrated the ribbon cutting of the comprehensive renovation project within OTC’s main campus in the heart of Creative Village in Orlando, Florida. This 135,000-square-foot, five-story facility, which had not seen such extensive renovation since its opening in 1981, underwent a complete re-roofing and significant building envelope enhancements. DPR’s Build Up High School Interns Opt for Summer on the Jobsite

DPR Construction has welcomed 38 participants to its Build Up High School Intern Program, the largest cohort since the program began in 2017 and a 42% increase in participation compared to 2023. The program gives eligible high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to spend their summers working side by side with skilled project teams on major construction projects. Gilbane | Mosites Celebrate Topping Off of Robotics Innovation Center

Gilbane Building Company and joint venture partner Mosites Construction Company gathered with Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to celebrate the topping off ceremony for the new Robotics Innovation Center at Hazelwood Green and the success of the project thus far. The Richard King Mellon Foundation, dedicated to advancing prosperity in Southwestern Pennsylvania, announced a $150 million grant to CMU in 2021, the single largest grant since its inception in 1947. $45 million of this grant supports the construction of the RIC at Hazelwood Green, an area that was formerly a riverside steel mill. The National Electrical Contractors Association, Mechanical Contractors Association of America, Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors National Association and Association of Union Constructors officially signed a strategic alliance agreement on July 10. The importance will collaborate on all facets of the construction and maintenance industry. The agreement solidifies a unified front to address industry challenges and leverage collective strengths.
