Racanelli Construction Company, Inc. recently completed a new facility for the Center for New Horizons, Inc., Head Injury Association. The 10,000-square-foot, single-level facility is located in Mineola, New York. The project involved a complete gut and build-out. Racanelli installed interior foundation walls along with underground plumbing, a ramp to accommodate individuals with disabilities, exterior canopy, aluminum composite material panels, as well as sidewalks, curbs and an asphalt parking lot. Development and construction firm Skanska has been selected to construct a central energy plant for Wake Technical Community College’s seventh physical campus, Eastern Wake 4.0, in Wendell, North Carolina. The name Eastern Wake 4.0 denotes the term Industry 4.0, a reference to a fourth industrial revolution with the intelligent networking of machines and processes with information and communications technology. Build-to-Suit Facilities for Northrop Grumman under Construction
Two build-to-suit facilities leased by Northrop Grumman, one of the largest defense contractors in the world, are under construction in Huntsville, Alabama. The project team includes general contractor Robins & Morton, Corporate Office Properties Trust and Powers Brown Architecture. The two buildings, located in Huntsville’s Redstone Gateway development, total 236,000 square feet and stand five stories tall. Construction began in February 2021. The buildings are primarily concrete structures, built using a tilt-wall process. Virginia Hospital Center Outpatient Pavilion Project in Arlington Achieves Construction Milestone
The topping out milestone in the construction of Virginia Hospital Center’s new outpatient pavilion in Arlington, Virginia, has been achieved. Representatives from Skanska USA, VHC and Skanska’s construction partners commemorated the event by signing a steel beam, which was then placed atop the seven-story building. VHC, a community-based hospital, has provided medical services to the Washington, D.C.-metropolitan area for more than 75 years.
