Joint Venture Delivers Runway Reconstruction at Biggs Army Airfield

The reconstruction of the runway at Biggs Army Airfield, located at Fort Bliss on El Paso, Texas’ eastside, has recently been completed by Sundt Construction, Inc., and its joint venture partner MRM Construction Services. The $47-million runway reconstruction project consists of approximately12,000 linear feet of runway replacement and repair, scaling down the runway to better suit modern aircraft. The runway was built in the early 1960s with a wide footprint to accommodate B-52 Bombers. In the reconstruction completed by the team, the runway kept its length but narrowed its width. Remodels, Construction Complete on CVS Health Clinics

Open store remodels and construction are complete on new Minute Clinic/HealthHUB clinics at CVS Pharmacy locations in Leawood, Kansas; Chattanooga, Tennessee and St. Louis, Missouri. The projects included constructing new Minute Clinic/HealthHUB clinic rooms, waiting room, pharmacy consultation room and a group sales room. Knoebel Construction was the general contractor on the $350,000 project. Each 10,000-square-foot CVS location also was modernized with new finishes, including paint, flooring, millwork, brand signage and shelving. Memorial Healthcare System’s Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital’s vertical expansion, located in Hollywood, Florida, recently topped out. Robins & Morton is serving as the general contractor and the architect is HKS, Inc. Once all work is complete in the fall of 2022, the four-floor, 164,038-square-foot expansion will include 72 new patient rooms, two cardiac hybrid operating rooms, two surgical suites and an intraoperative MRI. Construction Complete on Hubbard Bypass Project in Waco

The Texas Department of Transportation State Highway 31 (SH-31) bypass project, located 30 miles east of Waco, Texas, has been completed. Sundt Construction, Inc. served as general contractor. “With record rainfall and a remote site, our project team displayed tremendous grit to complete this project on schedule,” said Joe Dooley, vice president and Texas regional director for the Transportation Group. “The bypass allows traffic an alternate route to bypass downtown, providing relief for its residents and convenience for those passing by.” The $63.9-million project improved nearly 10 miles of SH-31. Avenida Partner has selected McShane Construction Company to provide construction services for Avenida Hendersonville, a new active senior living community in Hendersonville, Tennessee. Positioned on a five-acre site, the three-story wood frame building will incorporate 138 units.
