Construction of Collin College Technical Campus in Allen, Texas is complete. The new campus, now open for all students for the fall 2020 semester, specializes in high-demand technical workforce education. Courses are available in automotive, construction, healthcare, computer networking, electronics and more. McCarthy Building Companies was awarded the project in 2017 and served as the construction manager at risk for all pre-construction and construction services, and also self-performed all concrete work. Construction is complete on the SoFi Stadium, the new home of the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers, in Inglewood, California. The project team including Turner-AECOM Hunt, the joint venture of Turner Construction Company and AECOM Hunt, part of AECOM, recently celebrated the opening of the 3.1-million-square-foot facility, which is the first football stadium erected in Los Angeles in nearly a century. The Modular Mobilization Coalition recently delivered the first multifamily modular construction project in the Petworth area of Washington, D.C. The Petworth Modo project consists of 44 modular units that will be stacked into a five-story building containing 16 apartments. The building is anticipated to be move-in ready by the end of 2020. The modular project is expected to be completed in 10 months compared to a 12-16-month timeline using traditional site-built construction methods. Construction is complete on a $17.5-million expansion initiative at the Lakeshore Foundation Master Campus in Homewood, Alabama near Birmingham. Hoar Construction served as general contractor on the project. The Lakeshore Foundation is a non-profit organization providing opportunities for people with disabilities in Alabama and across the country to lead healthy, independent lives through physical activity, nutrition, research, advocacy and more.
