The Chicago Bears recently unveiled the Halas Hall expansion, which included a 162,500-square-foot football operations addition to the already existing 143,000-square-foot facility and a 30,600-square-foot remodeling project on the northeast side of the building. The project broke ground in Lake Forest, Illinois, in March 2018. HOK was the design firm, Mortenson Construction was the general contractor and Corporate Concepts provided the furniture. New Amtrak Maintenance Facility Allows for Local Train Repairs
The new Locomotive Service Facility at the King Street Coach Yard in Seattle, Washington, has recently been completed for the National Railroad Passenger Corporation, Amtrak. This $32-million project included the demolition of the previous warehouse onsite and construction of a new 31,000-square-foot locomotive service facility. PCL Construction Services, Inc. served as the general contractor for the new maintenance facility. Interstate Highway 10 Improvements at Old Fredericksburg in Leon Springs, Texas, have been completed. Sundt Construction served as the general contractor. “Our team faced multiple challenges on this project,” said Project Manager Pat Beal. “Weather impacts had to be worked through and we needed to maintain access for the traveling public on intersection and ramps during multiple phases of construction. Power Facility at Leading Research University Expanded, Upgraded
An essential expansion and upgrade to Arizona State University’s combined heating and power facility located in Tempe, Arizona, has been completed. The project effectively doubles the available electrical power for the ASU research community microgrid, while also doubling the steam capacity used for heating by both the research community and the Tempe campus distribution network.
