The Madison Square Garden Company has engaged AECOM to serve as general contractor for MSG Sphere at The Venetian, MSG’s state-of-the-art entertainment venue under construction in Las Vegas, Nevada. Located on an 18-acre site, MSG Sphere at The Venetian will feature an iconic spherical shape, with a fully programmable LED exterior. Methodist University Hospital Vertical Expansion Opens

A $275-million, 450,000-square-foot patient tower at Methodist University Hospital, located in Memphis, Tennessee, is complete. The nine-story patient tower was constructed on top of the already existing emergency department and is part of the hospital’s campus expansion project, which also includes a 700-space parking plaza. Called Shorb Tower, it is named in honor of recently retired Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare President and CEO Gary Shorb. The expansion allows for a 36% increase in ICU capacity and a 20% increase in the hospital’s operating room capacity. Joint Venture Completes Arizona State Route 260 Improvements

Sundt Construction, Inc. and joint-venture partner Vastco recently completed the State Route 260 widening improvements between Cottonwood and Camp Verde west of Interstate 17 in Arizona. The project expanded eight miles of two-lane road into a four-lane divided highway. It also includes a new bridge and a multi-modal pathway from Cherry Creek Road to Interstate 17, as well as seven roundabouts. The full-access roundabout intersections were constructed at Thousand Trails Road, Coury Drive, Cherry Creek Road, Horseshoe Bend Drive, Wilshire Drive and two new locations to accommodate projected future traffic demands in the Verde Valley. BNBuilders was recently selected by the University of California, San Diego (California) to construct its new Design and Innovation Building. The $41-million facility will emphasize collaborative workspace to encourage new ideas, products and services that contribute to UCSD’s entrepreneurial spirit. The new Design and Innovation Building is one of several projects BNBuilders is undertaking for the university. Delaware River and Bay Authority Awards Memorial Bridge Protection System

Modjeski and Masters has recently been selected for the Delaware Memorial Bridge Protection System contract with the Delaware River and Bay Authority. As the prime consultant for this contract, Modjeski and Masters will design a vessel collision protection system for the northbound and southbound structures of the Delaware Memorial Bridge. The firm will design new pier protection cells and replace the channel-side fender system for the tower piers.
