University of Chicago to Reinvent Historic Residence Hall

CHICAGO, Ill. – Mortenson Construction has been chosen to transform a 1962 landmark building by architect Edward Durrell Stone into the new home for the University of Chicago, Illinois’ Harris School of Public Policy. Working from designs by architect of record Farr Associates and interior consultant Woodhouse Tinucci, Mortenson began construction in April on the renovation and expansion of the renamed Keller Center, which is scheduled to welcome students in January 2019. Knutson Awarded Hoover Elementary School Addition, IAQ Updates

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Knutson Construction has been selected as construction manager for the $10-million indoor air quality upgrade and preschool addition for Hoover Elementary School, located in Rochester, Minnesota. The addition, which will begin construction in September 2017, will include a gymnasium/cafeteria, two conference rooms, three offices, lockers, restrooms and roughly 19 additional classrooms. The IAQ upgrades are slated to begin in June 2018 and both phases will be completed by the start of the school year in September 2018. Ground Broken on $11M Temple Beth El Campus Construction, Renovation Project

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Ground was broken recently for the Temple Beth El of Boca Raton, Florida construction and renovation of its Schaefer Family Campus. Kaufman Lynn Construction will oversee the $11-million project that is expected to be completed in phases with the first phase to be completed this fall and overall completion scheduled for late 2019.
