Level 10 Builds Out Solar Panel Manufacturing, R&D Facility

SUNNYVALE, Calif. — Level 10 Construction recently announced it has completed a $65-million renovation of the Silevo California Technology Center in Fremont, California, a two-building solar fabrication and R&D facility. Level 10 Construction provided Design-Build services for the 200,000-square-foot project, working with architect M+W Group, Integrated Engineering Services, Inc. and Degenkolb Engineering U.S.A. Silevo develops and manufactures innovative solar panels that use a proprietary thin-film cell technology to deliver a high amount of power per square foot. Silevo is wholly owned by SolarCity. Gilbane Awarded New High School for Osceola School District

ORLANDO, Fla. — School District of Osceola County, Kissimmee, Florida, has awarded Gilbane Building Company the construction management at-risk contract to build a new 2,500- 3,000 student station high school. The campus, with a heavy emphasis on science, technology, education and math curriculum, and a collaborative learning environment, will include classroom buildings, media center, gymnasium, administration building, auditorium and music suite, and a cafeteria with a possible shared kitchen for a future middle school. Kaplan Construction Renovates Lab at Northeastern University

BOSTON, Mass. — Kaplan Construction has recently been selected by Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts, to renovate a laboratory for the College of Engineering. In its first project on Northeastern’s Boston campus, Kaplan will renovate an existing interior laboratory at the Egan Engineering/Science Research Center and install new mechanicals, lighting, fire alarm, finishes and millwork to create a new experimental laboratory. CHICAGO, Ill. — Co-developers Venture One Real Estate and Clayco recently broke ground on a 978,120-square-foot distribution center in DeKalb, Illinois. Upon completion, this facility will serve as the largest logistics center for 3M in the United States. A joint venture between Clayco and Venture One, the 3M distribution center is part of Park 88 in DeKalb, a 465-acre development located at the northwest corner of the intersection of Peace Road and Fairview. Exterior Restoration Work on Bowdoin College’s Coles Tower is Recognized

PORTLAND, Maine — In appreciation of the great efforts taken to preserve historic properties across the state, Maine Preservation recognized Consigli Construction Co., Inc., for its outstanding work to restore Coles Tower at Bowdoin College. The “2015 Statewide Historic Preservation Honor Award for Restoration” specifically acknowledged the company’s craftsmanship and engineering to repair the exterior of the building.
