Purdue University and Trimble are establishing a Trimble Technology Lab at Purdue focused on teaching and research for construction management technology in West Lafayette, Indiana. The lab is hosted by the School of Construction Management Technology within the Purdue Polytechnic Institute and will bring Trimble’s construction technologies into a dedicated learning environment for Purdue students to learn and innovate. The lab is expected to open in early 2024 and will be part of the institute’s evolving footprint at Dudley and Lambertus Halls. Central School District #104 held a groundbreaking ceremony Sept. 14, to kick off the additions and renovations project at its Joseph Arthur Middle School in Breese, Illinois. Poettker Construction is serving as the construction manager and Cordogan Clark the designer for 26,900 square feet of building expansions and 10,900 square feet of light renovations to the district’s middle school campus. Former Umbrella Factory Transforms into Luxury Condominium Building
The completion of the Umbrella Factory’s transformation has been completed in New York City. The former Embee Sunshade Company was refurbished into a mixed-use, high-end residential condominium building, successfully preserving the building’s historic charm. The project team included general contractor Gilbane Building Company, owner 722 Metropolitan LLC and architect Rawlings Architects PC. The Umbrella Factory’s unique façade, sustainable design and structural elements set it apart from many other buildings in New York City. Major Construction Milestone Achieved at Southwest Healthcare Inland Valley Hospital
The Southwest Healthcare Inland Valley Hospital expansion project in Wildomar, California has topped out. The project team includes general contractor DPR Construction and design architect HOK. The new seven-story, 290,000-square-foot patient tower will accommodate 102 beds to support Riverside County’s growing population. The campus will be equipped with leading-edge clinical technologies for minimally invasive procedures and advanced therapies, and sustainable infrastructure including energy-efficient LED fixtures and solar panels.
