Safety bulletins are brief discussions of the most severe safety issues facing concrete contractors and are published periodically. American Society of Concrete Contractors members receive a complete set of bulletins when they join the organization. They are available for sale to non-members. The Safety and Risk Management Council is a specialty council of the ASCC, dedicated to making its contractors the safest in the industry. As pandemic restrictions have eased, safety week will be holding more in-person events, including celebrations near O’Hare Airport in Chicago, Illinois and Centene Stadium in St. Loui, Missouri. Partnership to Address Mental Health and Suicide Prevention in the Construction Industry
A collaborative partnership between the Associated Builders and Contractors and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention will address mental health and suicide prevention throughout the U.S. construction industry. 3rd Annual National Stand-Down to Prevent Struck-by Incidents Takes Place April 11-15
This year’s Struck-by Stand-Down, organized by the NORA Construction Sector Council Struck-by Work Group, is expanding from a one-day event to a full week of activities to coordinate with National Work Zone Awareness Week. As the Stand-Down has grown, its topics have increased to include not only work zone safety, but also lift zone safety, heavy equipment, dropped objects and other sources of struck-by injuries.
