New Underground Utilities Prepare Way for Harbor-UCLA Medical Center Replacement Hospital

Largescale utility construction is underway in Torrance, California, at the Harbor-UCLA Medical Center campus. The project is part of preparations for a replacement hospital, which is in the design phase. Abbott Construction is leading the make-ready utility portion of the project to support the new outpatient treatment and support building. The work goes deep underground, and includes electrical and telecommunication duct banks, domestic and fire water lines, storm system infrastructure and other low voltage utilities. McCarthy Completes Fountain at Dallas’ Klyde Warren Park

McCarthy Building Companies has completed the installation of the Nancy Best Fountain at Klyde Warren Park, a water feature that will be one of the highlights of the 5.2-acre park located in the heart of Dallas, Texas. McCarthy Building Companies has contracted with Leeward Renewable Energy as the engineering, procurement and construction contractor for a utility-scale solar farm in Pearsall, Texas. The company is responsible for the design, procurement, construction and commissioning of the 200-megawatt facility. McCarthy’s renewable energy & storage team is hiring approximately 150 craftworkers to construct the Horizon Solar project, with new crews starting work in October.
