Groundbreaking for San Mateo County’s First Navigation Center for the Homeless

Groundbreaking ceremonies for San Mateo County, California’s first “navigation center,” designed to provide temporary living units and intensive onsite support services for individuals and couples experiencing homelessness, were held in mid-April. For optimal time and cost efficiency, all the 102 sleeping modules, 27 support modules, bathroom units and two modular elevators will be prefabricated. MAX USA CORP Introduces 5.0Ah Batteries MAX USA CORP has introduced MAX JPL91450A /JPL92550A 5.0Ah batteries. The increased Ah allows for more ties and cuts per charge for the company’s rebar tying and cutting tools. Replacing the current 14.4V batteries, the new batteries will allow RB441T and RB611T to tie up to 5,000 ties, RB401T-E to tie up to 4,500 ties and RB398S to tie up to 4,000 ties in one charge. NCCER Releases Spanish Translations of Core, Roofing and Concrete Construction Curriculum

The National Center for Construction Education and Research announce that three curricula are now available to students in Spanish. This includes Core Sixth Edition, Roofing Level 1 Second Edition and Concrete Construction Levels 1 and 2 Second Edition. While previous editions of Core curriculum have Spanish translations, this is the first time that Roofing and Concrete Construction are available in Spanish. The renewed Spanish translation efforts are part of NCCER’s goal to help organizations train skilled craft professionals in an increasingly diverse workforce. Oak View Group Begins Renovations to Transform Baltimore Arena

Oak View Group announced it has officially started renovations to transform the 60-year-old city-owned Baltimore Arena. In partnership with The Baltimore Development Corporation and Thirty Five Ventures, once fully renovated, the arena will serve as a key anchor on downtown’s west side. As part of the planned renovations, OVG and Thirty Five Ventures will fully fund the cost of the arena’s total reconstruction, which is estimated to cost at least $150 million.
