On the $25-million Bellvue Water Treatment Plant – Package B project, Hensel Phelps built a virtual as-built of the project through the use of laser scanning technology. The virtual as-built was used to provide the owner, the city of Greeley, an exact replica of the plant for future use. Gilbane Building Company provided construction management services for the installation and occupancy of 20 prefabricated cottages manufactured by Pallet Shelters and procured through DCAMM and the Executive Office of Health and Human Services. The scope of work included all site preparation and utilities work, concrete foundations, permanent electrical, plumbing, and fire alarm systems, as well as hardscape and paving, landscaping, painting, and miscellaneous site furnishings. S. M. Wilson & Co. has completed the new $6.8-million Highland Public Safety Building in Highland, Illinois. The 31,000-square-foot facility houses the city’s police, fire and emergency medical services departments under one roof, including a communications, reception and data center. Construction Employment Surpasses Pre-Pandemic Peak
Construction employment increased from February 2020 to February 2022 in nearly three-fifths of U.S. metro areas, according to an analysis by the Associated General Contractors of America of new government employment data.
