Majority of Metro Areas Added Construction Jobs in 2021, Soaring Job Openings Indicate Labor Shortages Getting Worse

Construction employment increased in nearly two out of three U.S. metro areas in 2021, according to an analysis by the Associated General Contractors of America of new government employment data. Ground Broken for Largest Building to Date in Caldwell, Idaho

Ground was recently broken on the newest addition to the North Ranch Business Park on what will be the largest building to date in Caldwell, Idaho. McAlvain Construction is serving as general contractor. The new 304,000-square-foot North Ranch Logistics Building will serve as an industrial space that will provide the area with a number of new jobs. The building is just another part of the 115-acre mixed-use development, which will also include retail, medical and office space. The project is slated for completion in late 2022. McAlvain Construction is a managed entity of Big-D Construction.

Omni PGA Frisco Resort Reaches Construction Milestone

The highly anticipated Omni PGA Frisco Resort, located in Texas, recently celebrated its topping out with an official ceremony that marked a major milestone for the country’s largest resort in development. Racanelli Construction Company, Inc. recently completed a new facility for the Center for New Horizons, Inc., Head Injury Association. The 10,000-square-foot, single-level facility is located in Mineola, New York. The project involved a complete gut and build-out. Racanelli installed interior foundation walls along with underground plumbing, a ramp to accommodate individuals with disabilities, exterior canopy, aluminum composite material panels, as well as sidewalks, curbs and an asphalt parking lot.
