TDIndustries Earns Excellence in Construction Award for Healthcare Project

The Associated Builders and Contractors’ South Texas Region awarded TDIndustries an Excellence in Construction award for work on HCA/Methodist Healthcare’s Stone Oak Hospital, located in San Antonio. The accolade came in the $2-$10 million category. TD renovated and expanded 27,000 square feet dedicated to operating, prep/recovery, decontamination and anesthesia care. The general contractor performed mechanical, plumbing, medical gas and ductwork installations and change-outs. NCCER Recognizes 2019 SkillsUSA National Carpentry, Masonry Competition Winners

NCCER recognizes the winners of this year’s SkillsUSA national carpentry and masonry competitions. The winners were announced at the 55th annual SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference in Louisville, Kentucky. More than 6,400 outstanding career and technical education students competed in 103 different craft, technical and leadership fields. The competitions were part of the SkillsUSA Championships, which is the national-level competition for secondary and postsecondary students enrolled in CTE programs. Ground Broken on New High School to Match Excellence of its Student Body

Ground was recently broken for construction of Meeker High School in Meeker, Colorado by Haselden Construction. The 87,600-square-foot addition and remodel, designed by architect TreanorHL, will provide better facilities for the school’s faculty and almost 200 students. Construction will touch nearly every aspect of the school, including a new classroom wing and gymnasium; remodel to the existing gymnasium and auditorium and updates to the commons area, administration offices, kitchen, science labs, metals classroom and wood shop. $55M Fullerton College Campus Expansion Plans under Review by State Architect

Construction Input Prices Plummet in June, Says ABC

Construction input prices decreased 1.3% on both a monthly and yearly basis in June, according to an Associated Builders and Contractors analysis of U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Producer Price Index data. This is the first time in nearly three years that input prices have fallen on a year-over-year basis. Overall, nonresidential construction input prices declined 1.4% from May 2019 but are down just 0.8% from June 2018. Among the 11 sub-categories, only natural gas (+1.6%) and concrete products (+0.9%) prices increased compared to May 2019.
