NCCER Announces 2021 Board of Trustees

NCCER elected Stephen Toups, president of Turner Industries in Baton Rouge, Louisiana as its 2021 board of trustees’ chairman and the first to serve a two-year term. Toups will succeed Michael Bennett, vice president of The Cianbro Companies in Pittsfield, Maine, who remains a member of the executive committee and is the co-chair of the newly founded Past Chairman’s Council. SkillsUSA WorldSkills USA Team Heads to International Competition

SkillsUSA, the organization that represents the United States in the WorldSkills Competition, is sending 22 career and technical education competitors to Kazan, Russia, to compete in 20 skill categories during the 45th biennial event Aug. 22-27. The WorldSkills Competition showcases trade skills such as construction and building technology, manufacturing and engineering and transportation and logistics. NCCER Recognizes 2019 SkillsUSA National Carpentry, Masonry Competition Winners

NCCER recognizes the winners of this year’s SkillsUSA national carpentry and masonry competitions. The winners were announced at the 55th annual SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference in Louisville, Kentucky. More than 6,400 outstanding career and technical education students competed in 103 different craft, technical and leadership fields. The competitions were part of the SkillsUSA Championships, which is the national-level competition for secondary and postsecondary students enrolled in CTE programs. ALACHUA, Fla. —Boyd Worsham has been appointed as the NCCER president and began his position this month at NCCER’s headquarters in Alachua, Florida.
