Clark Tops Out Concrete Structure at 150 Van Ness

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Clark Construction’s team in San Francisco, California has topped out 150 Van Ness, a 420-unit apartment building taking shape in the heart of the city’s Civic Center neighborhood. The milestone marks the completion of the building’s cast-in-place concrete superstructure and comes nine months after the project’s mud slab was poured. Crews placed 18,000 cubic yards of concrete to complete the complex’s 13-story frame. With this milestone realized, the project team will focus on completing the building envelope and interior work. Architecture Billings Index Growth Moderates

WASHINGTON, D.C. – For the sixth consecutive month, architecture firms reported increasing demand for design services as reflected in the July Architecture Billings Index. As a leading economic indicator of construction activity, the ABI reflects the approximate 9-12-month lead time between architecture billings and construction spending. The American Institute of Architects reported the July ABI score was 51.9, down from a score of 54.2 in the previous month.
