Construction Employment Increases by 11,000 in May to 8-Year High
Construction employment increased by 11,000 jobs in May to the highest level since October 2008 and average weekly hours set a series high for May as contractors struggled to find enough workers to meet demand for projects, according to an analysis of new government data by the Associated General Contractors of America. Construction Unemployment Rates Improve in 22 States, ABC Says
WASHINGTON, D.C. — April not seasonally adjusted construction unemployment rates were down in 22 states and unchanged in two (Arkansas and California) on a year-over-year basis, according to analysis released by Associated Builders and Contractors. However, the national NSA construction unemployment rate of 6.3 percent was up .3 percent from April 2016, according to data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Steel Erectors Honor Charlie Johnson with William Davis Service Award
