Suffolk Selected as Construction Manager for GE’s New Boston HQ

BOSTON, Mass. – Suffolk Construction Company has been selected by GE as construction manager for the development of it new global headquarters in Boston, Massachusetts. Suffolk will provide pre-construction services related to the development of the new 12-story building on the campus. In this first phase, Suffolk will work closely with the project architect, Gensler, on refining and completing the design. In addition, Suffolk will develop the project timing, sequencing, logistics and cost. Once complete, construction of the new 295,000-square-foot building will begin. ATLANTA, Ga. – Brasfield & Gorrie recently celebrated a significant milestone in the construction of the new Omni Hotel at The Battery Atlanta in the mixed-used development adjacent to SunTrust Park in Cobb County, Georgia. Construction Unemployment Rates Improve in 38 States Year-Over-Year, ABC Says

WASHINGTON, D.C. — November not seasonally adjusted construction unemployment rates were down in 38 states and the nation on a year-over-year basis, according to an analysis recently released by Associated Builders and Contractors. The rates for two states, Kansas and Texas, were unchanged from November 2015. The national NSA construction unemployment rate of 5.7 percent was down 0.5 percent from a year ago and unchanged from October, according to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Ground is Broken on State-of-the-Art Integrated Sterile Processing Center

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Ground has been broken on a 39,000-square-foot sterile processing center in Omaha, Nebraska. Lendlease was selected in as the project’s developer. The sterile processing center is strategically situated just south from the Nebraska Medicine-Nebraska Medical Center campus. This new facility will allow the medical center to consolidate five smaller processing locations into a single center serving all of Nebraska Medicine’s surgical areas, which include the midtown Omaha campus, its hospital in Bellevue and its outpatient surgery center in West Omaha at Village Pointe.

Mortenson Selected to Transform Science Building into State-of-the-Art Performing Arts Center

CHICAGO, Ill. – Mortenson Construction is launching a major building project on the Wheaton College campus in Wheaton, Illinois, to create a state-of-the art performing arts center.
