Skanska USA has signed a contract with Alamo Colleges to build its new District Support Operations Administration Complex in San Antonio, Texas. The contract is worth $45 million. The new facility will include approximately 52,000 square feet of class A office space, 500 parking spaces, office suites, a conference center, campus police headquarters and dispatch and a central utility plant. Construction will begin in January 2017 and is slated for completion in July 2018.
The Korte Company Begins Work on $92.5M Design-Build USPS Project
The 818,000-square-foot project is situated on a 47-acre site with three entrances onto the property and includes a 788,845-square-foot processing and distribution center with administration, maintenance and employee support areas and is located in Portland, Oregon. The distribution facility features areas specified for a Business Mail Entry Unit and United States Postal Inspection Services. The building consists of workroom, which houses fixed mechanization equipment and postal automation equipment, and a mail platform with a total of 92 dock positions. Construction Industry Alliance Announces New Resources Aimed at Suicide Prevention
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Associated Builders and Contractors have made new resources available to its members through its membership in the Construction Industry Alliance for Suicide Prevention. ABC joined the Construction Financial Management Association-led alliance in October 2016 to help provide resources and disseminate information on suicide prevention and mental health awareness in the construction industry, with a goal of building a zero-suicide industry. EL PASO, Texas – Sundt Construction, Inc. has been selected to build the new Medical Science Building II at Texas Tech University’s Health Sciences Center in El Paso, Texas. The $62-million project includes the construction of a 227,000-square-foot facility, housing complex research laboratories, lecture halls and classrooms, teaching space, faculty/researcher and staff offices and campus support space.
