McCarthy to Build Southwest Airlines’ New Facility
DALLAS, Texas – McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. recently won the award to build Southwest Airlines’ new office and training facility on the company’s corporate campus in Dallas, Texas. The new building, called “Wings”, consists of a 414,000-square-foot office building and an attached 367,000-square-foot flight training center which will house 18 flight simulator bays, associated offices and ancillary areas. Knutson Awarded Whitewater State Park Minneiska Campground Project
ROCHESTER, Minn. — Knutson Construction has been awarded the contract to expand the existing Whitewater campground, located in Altura, Minnesota. The project is estimated at $7.2 million with an anticipated completion date of July 2017. The project consists of expanding the existing 2,700-acre park with a majority of the work consisting of site clearing, excavation, erosion control, bituminous and concrete pavement, water distribution system, septic system, electrical work, landscaping and site preparation. Construction Employment Declines or Stagnates Between May 2015, 2016
Construction employment declined or was stagnant in 131, or 37 percent, of 358 metro areas between May 2015 and May 2016, according to a new analysis of federal employment data released by the Associated General Contractors of America. The data comes as years of underfunding have contributed to declining highway, transit and other public infrastructure just 60 years after President Eisenhower signed the first interstate highway act. WASHINGTON, D.C. – JLL recently celebrated the dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Trinity Washington University’s Payden Academic Center in Washington, D.C.
