ANDOVER, Conn. — Connecticut’s Channel 3 Kids Camp has appointed KBE Building Corporation’s Mike Kolakowski to its board of directors. Kolakowski is the president and principal owner of KBE Building Corporation. Kolakowski and KBE Building Corporation’s involvement with the Kids Camp began in 2011, with the renovation of the Jennifer L. Hawke-Petit Health Lodge. KBE provided both a financial donation and construction management services to support the 1,000-square-foot renovation project. Mortenson, Other Construction Leaders Launch First Annual Safety Week

With the goal to eliminate worker injury, Mortenson and a group of other national construction firms launched the industry’s first annual “Safety Week” May 4-10. Safety Week is an opportunity to promote safety awareness in the construction industry which traditionally has higher than average incident rates compared to other occupations. Construction Unemployment Rate Declines, Reports AGC

The unemployment rate in construction dropped to the lowest April level in seven years as contractors added 32,000 workers to payrolls in April, bringing industry employment to 6.0 million, the highest level since June 2009, according to an analysis of new government data by the Associated General Contractors of America.
