DENVER, Colo. — Ware Malcomb was recognized recently by the Tilt-Up Concrete Association at the organization’s annual convention and awards gala with a 25th Annual Tilt-Up Achievement Award for its work on the Prologis Stapleton Business Center North Building 1 located in Denver, Colorado. The tilt-up warehouse is a 402,398-square-foot speculative facility and incorporated several architectural features including lay-up panels, floating panels and spandrels that reach over 50 feet. The corners of the building incorporated 3-story recessed storefront glass, covered canopies, floating panels and bearing spandrels. Minnesota United FC Selects Mortenson to Build St. Paul Soccer Stadium

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — Minnesota United FC recently announced it has selected Mortenson Construction as the construction manager for the team’s planned $120-million, 20,000-seat stadium in St. Paul, Minnesota. The stadium will be the home for Major League Soccer in the state of Minnesota. Construction on the stadium is planned to begin in 2016. Level 10 Builds Out Solar Panel Manufacturing, R&D Facility

SUNNYVALE, Calif. — Level 10 Construction recently announced it has completed a $65-million renovation of the Silevo California Technology Center in Fremont, California, a two-building solar fabrication and R&D facility. Level 10 Construction provided Design-Build services for the 200,000-square-foot project, working with architect M+W Group, Integrated Engineering Services, Inc. and Degenkolb Engineering U.S.A. Silevo develops and manufactures innovative solar panels that use a proprietary thin-film cell technology to deliver a high amount of power per square foot. Silevo is wholly owned by SolarCity. ORLANDO, Fla. — School District of Osceola County, Kissimmee, Florida, has awarded Gilbane Building Company the construction management at-risk contract to build a new 2,500- 3,000 student station high school. ASCC Initiates Mentoring Program

LOUIS, Mo. — The Emerging Leaders Committee of the American Society of Concrete Contractors, St. Louis, Missouri, has initiated a mentoring program for its contractor and associate members. “The program seeks to unite seasoned concrete construction professionals with members of lesser experience in a guided program to share knowledge and expertise,” says Greg Hyde, Hyde Concrete, and an EL Committee member.
