Construction input prices decreased .9% in September compared to the previous month, according to an Associated Builders and Contractors’ analysis of U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Producer Price Index data. Nonresidential construction input prices also decreased .9% for the month. Prices decreased in two of the three energy subcategories last month. Crude petroleum prices were down by 16.7%, while unprocessed energy materials prices were down 12.6%. Natural gas prices rose 2.4% in September. Rosendin Begins Construction on UCSF Health Helen Diller Hospital
Rosendin, an electrical contractor, has begun work on the new UCSF Health Helen Diller Hospital in San Francisco, California. The $4.3-billion project at the University of California, San Francisco’s flagship campus at Parnassus Heights is dubbed “the hospital of the future.” In August 2020, Rosendin was selected to be part of the project team that includes preconstruction and design-build work for a 15-story outpatient tower, led by general contractor Herrero Boldt Webcor, a tri-venture partnership between Herrero Builders, The Boldt Company and Webcor. Wellness Workdays, a provider of workplace wellness programs, enhances its partnership with Turner Construction by expanding its Wellness Trailer 2.0 program to new locations in and around Texas. The new regional partnership between Turner Construction and Wellness Workdays was established in Texas in January 2024 with one site, serving over 300 workers. Howard S. Wright Selected to Deliver Vern Miller Civic Center Renovations
Howard S. Wright, a Balfour Beatty company, has been selected to deliver exterior and interior renovations to the Salem Civic Center/City Hall in Salem, Oregon to create a 21st century workplace for the mayor and city managers offices, city council chambers, municipal courts and planning and purchasing departments. Roughly $40 million in substantial renovations will be made to the 1970 Civic Center featuring a seismic retrofit and structural upgrades.
