Bechtel recently delivered the design and construction of the new Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport on behalf of the Australian Government. This key milestone positions WSI to commence passenger and cargo flights in late 2026, welcoming up to 10 million passengers per year in its initial phase. General contractor BESIX Watpac has begun construction on the $200-million Deep Maintenance and Modification Facility adjacent to the Royal Australian Air Force Edinburgh base in northern Adelaide, South Australia. The project is one of the largest ever undertaken by Renewal SA, the South Australian Government’s urban development agency, and is a key development in enhancing Australia’s military infrastructure.
