BESIX Watpac Delivers Landmark Defense Aviation Facility at RAAF Base Edinburgh

Appointed as design and construction partner by Renewal SA for the Australian Department of Defense’s Deep Maintenance and Modification Facility in April 2024, BESIX Watpac delivered the AUD 200-million development from early works through completion. The DMMF reached practical completion in March 2026. The program was driven by early design engagement, innovative delivery approaches and the smart use of digital construction methods. Construction Begins on Major Military Aircraft Hangar in South Australia

General contractor BESIX Watpac has begun construction on the $200-million Deep Maintenance and Modification Facility adjacent to the Royal Australian Air Force Edinburgh base in northern Adelaide, South Australia. The project is one of the largest ever undertaken by Renewal SA, the South Australian Government’s urban development agency, and is a key development in enhancing Australia’s military infrastructure.
