BOONTON, N.J. – Phelps Construction Group participated in a groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday, Oct. 6, for the new 26,000-square-foot Statue of Liberty Museum on Liberty Island in New York Harbor, a project of The Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Foundation, Inc. working in partnership with the National Park Service. In Joint Venture, Skanska to Build Light Rail in San Diego

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Skanska and Mid-Coast Transit Contractors – a joint venture of Stacy and Witbeck, Herzog and Skanska – has been awarded a $921.8-million construction manager/general contractor contract from the San Diego Association of Governments to construct the Mid-Coast Trolley in San Diego, California. The Mid-Coast Trolley will extend existing service from the Old Town Transit Center to the University City community, serving major activity centers such as the Mission Bay area, the VA Medical Center, the UC San Diego and Westfield UTC Transit Center. Ground is Broken on New 1M-SF Distribution Center at Gateway 57

Co-developers CRG, the real estate development group of Clayco and Venture One Real Estate recently broke ground on a 1,000,560-square-foot distribution center in University Park, Illinois. The state-of-the-art 36-foot clear cross-dock distribution facility will be occupied by Georgia Pacific upon completion. The Georgia Pacific distribution center is the first building in Gateway 57 Industrial Park in University Park, a 127-acre development located at the northwest corner of the newly constructed interchange of I-57 and Stuenkel Road. A Sundt team ran into just such an issue on a project for Southwestern College and quickly developed a way to climb out of the hole.
