RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Skanska and Mid-Coast Transit Contractors – a joint venture of Stacy and Witbeck, Herzog and Skanska – has been awarded a $921.8-million construction manager/general contractor contract from the San Diego Association of Governments to construct the Mid-Coast Trolley in San Diego, California. The Mid-Coast Trolley will extend existing service from the Old Town Transit Center to the University City community, serving major activity centers such as the Mission Bay area, the VA Medical Center, the UC San Diego and Westfield UTC Transit Center. Ground is Broken on New 1M-SF Distribution Center at Gateway 57

Co-developers CRG, the real estate development group of Clayco and Venture One Real Estate recently broke ground on a 1,000,560-square-foot distribution center in University Park, Illinois. The state-of-the-art 36-foot clear cross-dock distribution facility will be occupied by Georgia Pacific upon completion. The Georgia Pacific distribution center is the first building in Gateway 57 Industrial Park in University Park, a 127-acre development located at the northwest corner of the newly constructed interchange of I-57 and Stuenkel Road. A Sundt team ran into just such an issue on a project for Southwestern College and quickly developed a way to climb out of the hole. While starting utility relocations for a 25,000-square-foot science building on the National City, California campus, they ran across two old storage tanks located 8-10 feet below grade. Construction Complete on Bethune-Cookman University Residence Halls

Hensel Phelps has completed the construction of four new residence halls for Quantum Equity One LLC at Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach, Florida. The four brand-new residence halls provide an additional 1,204 beds for students. The design and construction of this project was a collaborative effort between Hensel Phelps’ Development Group and Construction Group. Hensel Phelps Services Group has recently signed a contract with Bethune-Cookman to provide post-occupancy services to the university, thus integrating a total project solution for this landmark project.
