The Hovedstaden region of Denmark has chosen NCC to construct the New North Zealand Hospital, the last of the super hospitals to be built in Denmark. NCC and the New North Zealand Hospital will now work out the details and plan to sign an agreement during the fourth quarter. The hospital will comprise a four-story, 118,000-square-meter building. NCC has been commissioned by property developer Bricks A/S to build Nicolinehus in Aarhus, Denmark—a construction project of 40,000 square meters valued at nearly SEK 1.4 billion. Nicolinehus will form a link between the city and the port comprising housing units, a market hall, stores, fitness centers, offices and restaurants. Metroselskabet has awarded a EUR $460-million Design-Build contract for Sydhavn Metro Line (Line 4) in Copenhagen, Denmark, to an equal-parts joint venture consisting of HOCHTIEF Infrastructure and VINCI Construction Grands Projets. HOCHTIEF will be the technical leader of the joint venture. This Design-Build project for the southern metro line is a six-year mandate that calls for the construction of dual 4.4-kilometer tunnels using two earth-pressure tunnel boring machines along with five underground stations and two crossover structures.
