Site preparation and construction has begun on the new $1.7-million St. Paul’s Hospital project in Vancouver, Canada. At more than 2 million square feet, this will be the most extensive hospital redevelopment in British Columbia’s history. The hospital will offer a diverse and long list of general and specialized care. It will also include a multi-level underground parking garage, public plaza, new roads and civil infrastructure. A Design-Build contract for the $79.8-million Health and Human Services Center, by the Placer County board of supervisors, was recently awarded to the Turner Construction Company/AC Martin team. The new facility is included in the county’s recently updated master plan for the Placer County Government Center, and will help consolidate existing staff and services from six divisions into a 142,000-square-foot facility in North Auburn, California. Design-Build work has been completed on the first wastewater treatment plant in Victoria, British Columbia. The McLoughlin Point Wastewater Treatment Plant provides tertiary treatment for wastewater from the core area municipalities of Victoria, Esquimalt, Saanich, Oak Bay, View Royal, Langford and Colwood, and the Esquimalt and Songhees nations. Work at the facility began in 2017 by Harbour Resource Partners, a joint venture between AECOM and Graham. The plant is the main component of a CAD$775-million wastewater program undertaken by the Capital Regional District. ZÜBLIN to Deliver New Public Administration Center in Germany

STRABAG subsidiary ZÜBLIN and Dreßler Bau GmbH are working together as management contractors in a consortium to realize the new public administration headquarters in the heart of Dresden (Germany). The Design-Build contract, which will leave its mark on the Dresden cityscape, was awarded by Kommunale Immobilien Dresden GmbH & Co. KG with a fixed lump sum price of € 116 million.
